WHOLE NUMBER

We are beginning our Math with a question. “How many people live in Bekasi?”. There were a lot of answers from the students and we described what whole numbers are. Then we had a class discussion why we need to know how to read and write numbers in numerals and figures. We used think-pair-share strategy to provide an opportunity for students to discuss it in pairs, and finally together with the whole class. As the result we listed down some situations when we read and write numbers in numerals and figures in our daily life.

After this activity, students were showed a list number of people who live in each “kecamatan” in Kota Bekasi.

Then we learned how to read and write the numbers in numerals and figures. We also wrote  numbers in expanded form to show the value of each digits.
